It is required by the Diocese of Phoenix that all adult volunteers of the parish complete the Safe Environment Session.

The Diocese of Phoenix offers several abuse prevention educational sessions. All adults must first complete a "Called to Protect for Ministries" and/or "Called to Protect for Parents and Families" educational session before attending "Our
Continued Commitment" or take an online training session.

 

Called to Protect sessions contain basic foundational information upon which future trainings will build.

 

The Policy and Procedures for the Protection of Minors states that clergy, employees and volunteers must attend a Safe Environment training session annually. This year the renewal session is titled “A Plan to Protect God’s Children.”

This renewal must be completed by December 31, 2011! There are two (2) options to complete this renewal.

 

Option 1 - Online Renewal

Simply follow these steps (using Internet Explorer):
♦ Go to http://www.safeenvironmenttraining.org
♦ Select “Online Renewal”
♦ Enter your name and street address and click on “Submit”
♦ On the next page you will see a Welcome screen; verify that your information is correct and click on “Update
and Continue Online”
♦ On the next page select “A Plan to Protect God’s Children Online Video”, “Preventing Children from Harming
Children Online Video”, “Remaining Vigilant Online Video”, “Internet Safety Online Video” or “Our Continued
Commitment Online Video”
♦ Follow along with the instructions and video.

 

Once you are in, you will see a short series of videos and then begin the training. After you are finished, your record will automatically be updated in the SET database and you will receive an e-mail confirmation of your completed renewal.

 

Option 2 - Attend a Renewal Session in Person

 

You can locate and register for a renewal class by following the instructions below:
♦ Go to http://www.safeenvironmenttraining.org
♦ Locate a class titled “A Plan to Protect God’s Children”
♦ Select class date/time that works best for you.
♦ Enter you name and (home) street address and click on “Submit”.
